Reforma do Ciep João Goulart no Pavão-Pavãozinho inicia com investimento de R$ 15 milhões para se tornar centro multifuncional

From the top of the Pavão-Pavãozinho community, on the border of the neighborhoods of Copacabana and Ipanema, the Ciep with the most privileged view of Rio de Janeiro will begin the first stage of its long-awaited renovation in July. With an investment of R$ 15 million allocated by the state government, the State Public Works Company of Rio de Janeiro (Emop) will commence a project that promises to transform the Ciep João Goulart.

The building, which was originally built to be a school with capacity for 4,000 students, will have various functions and will serve as a multifunctional community center. The new facilities will include a Faetec school restaurant, a Library Park, the Cantagalo Favela Museum, an administrative area of the Military Police Battalion, a space for the Women’s Secretariat, and the “Path of Art”. This last one will be a connection within the complex of favelas, adorned with graffiti and patterns, connecting the building to the Panoramic Elevator of Pavão-Pavãozinho, facilitating access to Rua Barão da Torre in Ipanema.
The first phase of the works will focus on the facade and interior areas of the building, including the renovation of elevators, bathrooms, cafeteria, among other improvements. The transformation promises not only to improve the infrastructure but also to bring new services and opportunities to the community residents.
