According to the police report, the customer arrived at the motel on Sunday afternoon and paid R$140.00 for an overnight stay of 10 hours, which was supposed to end at 4:20 a.m. on Monday. However, he overslept and only woke up after 9:00 a.m.
When he tried to leave, he was stopped by the motel’s management, who demanded payment for the extra hours at a rate of R$35.00 per hour, totaling R$140.00.
The customer argued that he should have been woken up by the staff when his time was up. However, the manager stated that he did not request to be notified when his overnight stay was ending.
