Navalny, principal opositor de Putin, enfrenta transferência demorada para prisão na região ártica da Rússia

Navalny’s Lawyers Await Transport After “Extremism” Conviction. Lawyers were expecting Navalny to be transferred after receiving a new conviction for “extremism” in August. The problem is that due to the size of Russian territory, the process requires weeks of travels by train, in several stages, and the prisoners’ families are left without news during the transfer.

Imprisoned since 2021, Putin’s main opponent is in Yamalo-Nenets prison, in the Arctic region of Russia. A statement released by Kira Yarmysh, his spokesperson, says that Navalny spoke with his lawyer from inside the prison.
