Delgatti, alvo da operação Spoofing, concorda em confrontar Bolsonaro em audiência para verificar veracidade das acusações.

Walter Delgatti Netto, the hacker who exposed the acts of January 8th, has stated that he is willing to participate in a face-to-face confrontation with former President Jair Bolsonaro in order to prove the information he provided to the parliamentary mixed inquiry committee (CPMI). The possibility was raised by Senator Veneziano Vital do Rêgo (MDB-PB) during Delgatti’s testimony, and he responded calmly with a “yes.”

Delgatti’s deposition before the committee took place on Thursday (17). The hacker also commented at another moment that he would be willing to have a face-to-face confrontation with anyone in order to help prove the information. “I am available for any confrontation, if necessary. I make myself available,” he stated when questioned by Federal Deputy Duarte Jr. (PSB-MA).

A confrontation is a procedure provided for in the Civil and Penal Codes in which two individuals who defend contradictory versions are brought face to face in order to arrive at the truth.

Among the accusations made by Delgatti is that Bolsonaro offered him a presidential pardon in exchange for hacking into the electronic voting system and assuming responsibility for an alleged wiretap installed to monitor Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. A pardon means the forgiveness of a sentence, effected by presidential decree.

The hacker also claimed that he hacked into the Brazilian judiciary’s systems at the request of Federal Deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), who denies the accusations. Delgatti further stated that at Bolsonaro’s request, he provided guidance to the military of the Armed Forces in the preparation of the report on the electronic voting machines presented in 2022.

Another accusation made by Delgatti is that Bolsonaro and his campaign strategist for the 2022 elections, Duda Lima, asked the hacker to act as a spokesperson in a video containing false information against the electronic voting machines.

The rapporteur of the CPMI, Eliziane Gama (PSD-MA), stated that she may request a confrontation between Delgatti and Bolsonaro, former Defense Minister Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, Deputy Zambelli, or any other person mentioned by the hacker. In order to approve the confrontations, a motion must be presented at a deliberative meeting of the committee.

In his testimony, Delgatti is revealing information that has the potential to shake the political scenario in Brazil. The allegations against Bolsonaro and his associates are serious and demand further investigation. The CPMI has a responsibility to gather all the evidence and determine the truth behind these claims. The journalist will continue to monitor the developments and report on any new information that emerges as the investigation progresses.
